The article considers the problems and directions of increasing the competitiveness of enterprises of the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine. The directions of state support of agricultural enterprises and the experience of foreign countries in ensuring the competitiveness and sustainability of competitive advantages of agricultural enterprises are studied. The aim of the article is, on the one hand, to assess the development trends of domestic agriculture in the context of intensifying globalization processes, and on the other - to develop recommendations for strengthening the competitiveness of the agricultural sector of Ukraine in foreign markets. The problem of sustainable economic development of the agro-industrial complex, its role and place in the country's economy is in the center of attention of the country's leadership and scientists, because everyone understands that food security and food independence is a guarantee of social stability and national independence of Ukraine. Its relevance is growing in connection with the global stock, financial and economic crisis. In modern economic conditions, the bulk of agricultural producers do not compete with each other and are not monopolists, but operate in the environment of processors and monopolized trade.
