Abstract
The feed of dogs in general may contain different microelement , the
inflammatory bowel disease is a collection of several disorders that characterized
by continuous gastrointestinal signs , the purpose of that study to examination and
discuss the hematobiochemical changes and their relation with clinical signs and
also to investigate the bio-marks which act as indicators in our study as some
vitamins and folate or such as cobalamin especially in dogs that suffer with
inflammatory intestinal disease which that microelement can lead to the enteritis in
dogs and how the process of it and let to that microelement play a big role in
complication of inflammatory bowel disease in dogs in general. from or during the
6
research was collect about or in total of 23 IBD dogs which they have some signs
or with symptoms of chronic gastrointestinal diseases were chosen for the study,
these signs that may the dogs suffer from it as a result either enteritis or
inflammatory bowel disease in general and that include vomiting, diarrhea,
anorexia, weight loss and abdominal pain.
Then about the diagnostic tool which used in the research and has a big
value in diagnostic procedure and to identify and detect the abnormalities of
inflammatory bowel disease or enteritis its Ultrasound scanner, the most common
of inflammatory bowel disease that related with abnormalities such as dilated
intestinal loops with hyper motility, as well as thickening and loss of wall layers in
the stomach, duodenum, and jejunum. And also, other diagnostic procedure which
we performed during our research and also has a value in diagnosis of
inflammatory complication of intestine in dogs its hematological findings showed
significant increase in the total white blood cell count and dogs for significant
decrease in hemoglobin and Hematocrit value which in our study discuss them.
And also, in the research performed biochemical analysis that show some
parameters which has significant influence in case of enteritis or inflammatory
bowel disease, which that parameters act as a diagnostic value in that complication
in dogs which
Biochemical analysis revealed significant increase in serum activities of
aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), blood urea
nitrogen and blood creatinine compared to the controls. Whilst significant decrease
in serum 25(OH)D, folate and cobalamin levels in IBD dogs was observed which
indicate intestinal malabsorption, and these markers are good predictors of IBD.
